Grateful for this press release from the publisher about next week’s release of the new book…

(BIRMINGHAM, Ala.)—November 29, 2011—We all know it is important to think beyond our own church, but why is it really imperative? Thinking beyond your church matters because the unity of the church is vital in order for the work of God to happen in our city and in our world.

In Beyond My Church: Thinking and Living So That the World Might Know (978-1-59669-345-6, N124150, $14.99) by pastor Jason Dukes, you will explore this unity and discover how it can become part of the DNA of your local church expression. And not just unity in the one local church family that you call your own. When all followers of Jesus actually love one another like Jesus loved us—living according to His ways rather than our own—then the world will see and, in turn, believe that Jesus was actually sent as the Son of God. This is the unity Jesus prayed for. It should be lived out among His followers and can only be present when God is the force holding us all together.

Praise for Beyond My Church
“It only stands to reason that if our Lord has the whole world in His hands, we should have the whole world on our hearts. Jason reminds us well of what it means to live the kingdom life.”—Dr. Johnny Hunt, pastor, First Baptist Church Woodstock

“The ‘MY church’ mentality has manifested into a form of a church that is not ultimately one that missional nor Christ edifying. Jason Dukes will challenge you to rethink the church and to live as a sent one. We are sent ones called to embrace a grander and higher dream—a gospel movement much bigger than ourselves and much more powerful.”—Dr. Tiffany Smith, missions mobilization, Southern Baptists of Texas Convention
